Role 1012 

 

A Non-Executive Chairman is required for a Fund Management company based in the South East.

Successful candidates will have a regulated Financial Services background and have relevant experience, personal gravitas, chair experience. The chosen candidate would be expected to be hands-on and have the depth and breadth to challenge the Executive team.

Key responsibilities are to set the style and tone of Board discussions and create the overall conditions for Board and director effectiveness.  Ensure that the Board as a whole is enabled to play a full and constructive part in the development, determination and implementation of the business strategy and overall commercial objectives.  Ensure that the development of the business and the protection of the reputation of the Company receives sufficient attention from the Board.

The total time commitment is 1-2 days per month including quarterly board meetings, preparation time, strategy planning and time with Directors for which Chair will receive remuneration of £20,000 per annum.

Board Meetings are normally held in London.

 

The Company and its Market:

 

  • Our client is a private owned fund management company founded in 2008.
  • Our client manages a Global equity fund with an investment objective to outperform the *MSCI World Index and to provide capital growth over a medium to long-term time horizon.

 

The Non-Executive Chairman role

 

  • Our client is seeking an Independent Non-Executive Chairman to join its main Board. This is a new role.
  • There is a fee for the role of £20,000 per annum.
  • The appointment is for an initial 1 year period. This may be renewed by agreement.
  • The Chairman will be expected to Chair 4 Board Meetings pa. Overall the time commitment is expected to be 1-2 days a month including preparation time; this will increase in the early months where induction will be required. The company will arrange a tailored induction for the successful candidate.
  • The company provides suitable D&O insurance for its Non-Executive Chairman.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Approved person with the PRA/FCA
  • Senior Director level within fund management
  • Substantive Chair experience
  • Experience in promoting the highest standards of Corporate Governance
  • Sufficient time availability to commit 1-2 days a month
